2 Camps down, roll on the next

Just before we got to camp I decided to give Subway once more shot at redemption. And I have to admit the northern version of Subway is much better and more like home than my previous experiance in L.A.

After a week of orientation and getting to know every body, we then had a few days of senior camp. Which was actually good fun, most of them were good for a laugh and always a good chat.

We have just had the first 'real' camp this week which was teen camp. Mostly kids from the Detroit area. I had 10 kids 16-17 yrs old, 8 of which were from Detroit. I have to admit going into the camp I had been told told a lot of previous bad experiances so I was highly nervous. And by monday evening I was very nervous that my group would implode as there were a few minor conflicts that I thought might esculate. Tues morn I was questioning what I was doing here and thinking that I'm not cut out to deal with the kids due to how different our life experiances were. how ever at Tues devotion time I told the crew about my upbringing etc, and what I had experianced. After that (not nessecarily because of) things got much better. And by the end of the week I was/ am very tired but so pleased how it went. No incidences or dramas. I must admit though I did have help from lots of people in the camp team.

So tomorrow we have a new camp that starts, I feel much more comfortable to be here now. So hopefully all goes well.

Well I'm now going to have to run to my room as even we have a curfew of 11.

We dont get much time for emails etc, which is why any news / updates will be slow.

Hope all is well!
